2. What is MetaCleaner

MetaCleaner is an online tool for removing common EXIF and C2PA metadata from photos. Its purpose is to help users inspect and clean hidden technical data from a file before further use or publication.

The service does not address your legal obligations. If you have a statutory duty to label AI-generated content, commercial communications or any other type of content, you remain solely responsible for fulfilling it.

3. How the service works

You log in using your email address and a magic link.
You upload one or more photos.
The service removes common EXIF and C2PA metadata according to the technical capabilities for that file type.
The cleaned file is returned to you for download.
Photos are stored on the server only temporarily during processing and are then deleted.

MetaCleaner endeavours to remove common metadata but does not guarantee the removal of all possible traces, non-standard metadata, proprietary formats or future identifier types.

4. Free plan

The free plan lets you clean 3 photos at no charge without providing payment details. It is intended for trying the service.

We reserve the right to adjust, restrict or prevent abuse of the free allowance.

5. Paid plan & credits

The paid plan is a credit bundle. The current base bundle contains 50 credits. One credit equals processing one photo.

The current price is €4 or $4.99 depending on the displayed currency, region or payment gateway settings. Prices may change in the future.

Purchased credits do not expire.
Credits are assigned to the email address used for purchase or login.
Credits are non-transferable to another account unless individually agreed otherwise.
Enterprise solutions are arranged individually by email.

6. Payments

Payments are processed via Stripe. MetaCleaner does not store card numbers, CVC codes or complete payment details.

After a successful payment we receive the information needed to activate your credits. If credits are not added after payment, contact us at [email protected].

7. Refund policy

MetaCleaner is a digital service delivered online. Refunds are not available for credits that have already been used, as the service has been rendered.

If you purchased credits by mistake and have not used any, email us at [email protected]. Unused credits may be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

If a technical error occurs on our side, we may restore credits, provide an alternative remedy or individually assess a refund depending on the situation.

8. Prohibited use

You may not use the service for:

processing or distributing illegal content,
infringing the rights of third parties, copyright, privacy or personality rights,
creating or distributing deceptive, harmful, fraudulent or manipulative content,
circumventing legal obligations,
automated scraping, overloading the service or bypassing limits,
attempting to compromise the security, operation, server, API or database.

If we detect misuse we may restrict, suspend or block access.

9. User responsibility

You are responsible for the files you upload, for having the right to process them, and for how you subsequently use the cleaned files.

You are also responsible for fulfilling any applicable legal, platform or contractual obligations — for example those relating to labelling AI content, advertising or commercial communications.

10. Limitation of liability

MetaCleaner is provided "as is". We develop the service to be fast, secure and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors or 100% removal of all possible metadata in all files.

To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss, loss of social media reach, platform decisions, content labelling or other consequences arising from the use or inability to use the service.

11. Availability & changes to the service

We may modify, extend, temporarily restrict or update the service. Maintenance, outages or changes to the technical solution may occur.

We will endeavour to ensure that changes do not negatively affect users or their purchased credits.

12. Price & terms changes

Prices and terms may change in the future. A price change does not apply retroactively to already purchased credits.

We will inform you of material changes by an appropriate means — for example by email or a notice on the website.

13. Privacy

The processing of personal data is described in the separate Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. We will first attempt to resolve any disputes amicably via [email protected].

If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it will be settled in accordance with applicable law and the jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory provisions state otherwise.
